OpenFT uses a binary protocol for communication between nodes, but HTTP for downloads.

By default, OpenFT uses a random TCP port between 1215 and 2215 for inter-node communication and 2216 and 2316 for HTTP downloads.

l7-filter uses the openft pattern. It is lightly tested, but believed to work well.
