RADIUS

RADIUS is Remote Authentication Dial In User Service, defined in RFC 2865. It's used for much more than dial-in authentication - it is also seen in applications like EAP and PAM as well as Apache authentication modules. RADIUS also has accounting services, defined in RFC 2866.
